Job Listing: Senior Piping Designer

Overview:

Produce both conceptual and finished detail design layouts and drawings with appropriate software. Includes utilization of the design system for the production of complex piping design deliverables. Generates conceptual piping layouts. Maintains plot plans and equipment arrangement forms, develops plot layouts provided from estimated package. Generates Piping Bulk Take-Offs for piping materials. Reviews piping design deliverables before issuing to Piping Design Lead. Is able to communicate complex technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers. Supports development of junior designers. May be assigned as Piping Design Lead on assigned projects. Maintains and promotes a focus on end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction. Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and effective management of change. Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control

Responsibilities:

May function as lead piper for an area associated with overall unit. Ensure quality of design layout. Communicate with overall piping lead for project and apply to design layout. Interface with Engineering staff to support engineering effort, in addition to checking design drawings.

Qualifications:

High School diploma with some college required
Associate degree preferred
10+ years of experience in design modeling, drafting and design
PDS project experience
Proficient in current engineering design and drafting and software packages
Demonstrates a broad technical knowledge of design concepts and systems and possesses a basic knowledge of spreadsheet and database programs
