Sr. Systems Engineer

An immediate opening exists for a Sr. Systems Engineer with Aerotek Contract Engineering in Frederica, DE.

Job Summary:

This person will be the primary systems engineer supporting the CSSS suit element development. This position requires interpreting customer (NASA) requirements, developing derived requirements (working with the CSSS design engineers) and tracking documentation, verifying traceability, and ensuring current requirements are being used by design engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

- Support validation of the suit element efforts by reviewing the requirements for the system, as documented in the Cradle database, working with NASA suit element representatives
- Responsible for ensuring traceability between verification activities performed during the technology development effort and the certification and delivery of the various deliverables
- Track status of verification activities and make recommendations to the project where additional activities could be performed to complete additional verifications
- Begin then maintain definition of a certification program for the CSSS hardware
- Compiling and documenting the project validation activities in the Cradle database
- Capture and maintain in current status the identified risk items for the suit element
- The SE will be the point of contact for the ARES CxIRMA (Constellation Integrated Risk Management Application) lead maintaining the NASA database
- Work with CSSS design personnel in putting together contractual deliverables of reports and presentations for the suit element; the SE will be the primary person for the System Engineering documentation deliverables
- Primary contact for the suit element interface requirements between the other element and Constellation interfaces
- Interface with the NASA suit element representative on suit element issues
- There is a potential for some travel (10%) to NASA and other CSSS partner facilities

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science Engineering degree from a four-year college or university; plus at least eight (8) years related experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format
- Knowledge of MS Word; Excel; Power Point; Basic CAD skills; Data Acquisition and Data Analysis tools/software; and Internet software
- Working knowledge of hand tools, measurement tools, basic lab equipment
