This is a non-bargaining unit position.
The work schedule for this position is Mixed Tour. With a Mixed-
Tour work schedule, an employee may be changed between full time,
part-time, and intermittent work schedules to accommodate
fluctuating workloads and is subject to a signed agreement.

Major Duties
Incumbent Works with Regional Office (RO) Survey Supervisor to
develop regional office benchmarks and goals for the Field
Representatives (FRs) and implements plans to improve response rates
and work flow; Maintains strong communication with FRs and office
staff; Provide technical support to FRs and answer a variety of
inquiries from the field staff regarding survey procedures;
Administer part/ all of initial survey training for new FRs;
Administer part/all of refresher training for experienced FRs;
Establishes office techniques and procedures to conform with
technical instructions pertaining to the survey; Schedules
observations and re-interviews; Serves as the contact person for new
FRs and/ or current FRs having difficulty performing tasks;
Develops statistical guidelines for and creates monthly analysis
reports.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position you must have at least one year of
specialized experience which is equivalent to at least the next lower
grade level in this series. Specialized experience that equipped the
applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs)
to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is
typically in or related to the position to be filled.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
GRADE-7
EXPERIENCE: You have one year of work experience as a Survey Clerk
or Survey Technician at the GS-06 level in the federal service or one
year of work experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in providing
support for conducting data collection activities which includes
checking, reviewing, and editing incoming questionnaires for
completeness and accuracy and identifying questionable; assisting the
Supervisor in determining assignments and reassigning data collection
cases to staff members; following up with staff members to assure
assignments are complete and to resolve problems; preparing reports
in appropriate software applications; providing laptop computer
support to solve hardware and software problems; loading software to
computer laptops and assigning to staff members; conducting telephone
or personal interviews to resolve difficult or problem cases. Your
supervisor makes assignments by defining objectives, priorities and
deadlines. You independently complete assignments. Completed work is
reviewed for appropriateness and effectiveness in meeting goals.
EDUCATION: There is no substitute of education for specialized
experience for this position.

Knowledge of survey methods and terminology in order to review, edit,
and utilize questionnaires.
