A Top 4 Accounting firm is seeking a dedicated and driven Application Database Administrator for a 6-month contract position.
DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Global Independence Systems (GIS) is a complex suite of applications which support Global Quality and Risk Management for Our Client. These systems reduce the Company's risk in the area of independence, by enforcing the restrictions for both the Company's client-serving personnel’s financial portfolios (Personal Independence) and the scope of services they can offer to their clients (Firm Independence).
The most difficult aspect of these systems is gaining an understanding of complex data and relationships related to publicly-traded companies, their corporate “trees”, and the securities they issue.
Successful candidates working on this team will have had some background in the Financial Services industry and/or Professional Services.

Required Skills
Required Skills for this Application Database Administrator position include the following:
Candidates must have a minimum of eight (8) years of SQL Server experience.
Candidates must have superior analytical skills, and should be able to work in a matrix environment with Managers and Developers, multi-tasking between numerous systems. In this position, the Application DBA will interact with Project Managers, Developers, Technical Architect(s) and Customers.
The following SQL Server skills are mandatory:
Strong knowledge of SQL Server 2005
Strong knowledge of and working experience with Replication
Skill and experience with Performance Tuning of databases and Stored Procedures.
Microsoft Professional and Computer Engineer Certification is a bonus.
The ideal candidate will have had extensive experience in a complex data environment with constantly changing needs from clients, while maintaining the integrity of the database.
