Job Listing: Telecom Specialist: Experienced Cisco

Volt Technical Resources is pleased to announce its partnership with a private estate management service located in Kirkland in order to place a qualified Telecommunications Specialist. Our client provides premier administrative, travel, executive protection, technology and estate project management support for residents in the Pacific Northwest.

Summary of Position: The role is to plan, develop, implement, and maintain the company's telecommunications infrastructure. This includes installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all telephone systems and services, voicemail and PBX communication systems and Voice over IP environments. The person will also analyze and resolve telecommunications circuit issues in a timely and accurate fashion, support user needs where required, and manage vendor accounts.

Job Responsibilities:

*Manage and administer entire telecommunications infrastructure and its associated software, including PBXs, call management systems, voice mail, VoIP, and mobile communication services and devices.

*Develop long range telecommunications development plans in accordance with stated business strategy.

*Assist with design and oversee telecommunications projects with a goal to improving or expanding the current infrastructure.

*Assist with development, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and training plans for telecommunication systems administration and appropriate use.

*Administer add, move, and change requests from end users as well as new line installations as required.

*Monitor and identify capacity and performance issues for telecommunications traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telecommunications systems.

*Generate telecommunications usage and inventory reports as required.

*Conduct testing and development disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems.

*Assess need for any system reconfigurations (minor or significant), make recommendations and execute them as required.

*Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols and standards in support of telecommunications equipment procurement and development efforts.

*Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers and contractors to secure communications products and services in a timely and professional manner.

*Oversee and implement the acquisition and installation of state-of-the-art telecommunications equipment.

*Prepare telecommunications budget recommendations.

*Interact with technical staff to ensure the safe and proper installation of cabling, wiring and other electrical hardware.

*As a member of the team will respond to all system problems on a 7X24 basis and take part in on-call rotation.

*Maintain excellent communication with manager and team members on all tasks and projects.

* Travel to off-site offices and locations as required (may include out-of-state locations).

Required Skills

Candidates Must Meet Minimum Job Requirements:


*Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

*Minimum of 5 years of experience with communications systems design and/or maintenance.

*Must have established and broad experience Cisco VoIP CallManager. (Ideally, 5+ years engineering and administrative experience)

*Strong hands-on knowledge of the installation, implementation and maintenance of telecommunications equipment (Nortel Option 11c and Key systems), video teleconferencing equipment and voice/data equipment, including Cisco IP Telephony solutions (Cisco Call Manager), and Nortel Call Pilot voicemail system experience a must.

*Working technical knowledge of PBX, voice mail, call management systems, telecommunications accounting systems and TCP/IP.

*Working knowledge of telecommunication systems including land lines, cellular, satellite, pagers and smart phones.

*Experience in voice VPN's, traffic engineering, and call management systems.

*GSM mobile RF communication experience a plus.

*Experience managing cross-functional technical projects.

*Working technical knowledge of current telecommunications practices, protocols and principles.

*Ability to research, prepare and present cost estimates, budget reports, capacity forecasting, and systems upgrade recommendations.

*Excellent ability to handle significant workload with experience in managing multiple projects concurrently in a matrix process environment. Proven ability to multi-task, work in fast-paced environment and prioritize.

*Valid WA State Driver's License with safe driving record.

*Must be able to pass Background Investigation including Criminal, Public Records and Credit Checks.

*Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Microsoft Project.

*24/7, team oriented flexibility / *Willingness to work evenings and weekends, when necessary.

*Hourly, non-exempt
