IRS Computer Operators work primarily in one of our large processing
centers. They monitor and maintain the continuity of equipment
operations and processing workflow on our large-scale computer
systems. Computer Operators analyze, isolate and resolve equipment,
program or control failures that don't respond to standard operator
commands. They also perform special recovery activities and assist
in testing and installing new systems.

Major Duties

The Lead Computer Operator distributes, balances, monitors and
reports on workload in accordance with established workflow or job
specialization; assures equal distribution among employees and timely
accomplishment of assigned work load; amends work not meeting
established standards, refers to supervisor any problems on meeting
performance standards.
