Job Listing: Civil Engineer - Structural, Industrial, Concrete

Required Skills

JOB REQUIREMENTS: B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering. At least ten years of increasingly responsible civil engineering design experience. California Professional Engineer registration or the ability to obtain within six months. Experience designing heavy concrete and steel structures for power and/or industrial facilities. Working knowledge of ACI and AISC codes, and computer applications. Solid background and interest in power, heavy industrial, or water resources. The ability handle multiple diverse assignments successfully in a consulting firm environment. The ability to perform as a key member of an interdisciplinary project team, including supervising and mentoring junior engineers, and directly interfacing with clients. Strong computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Project. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Additional desirable characteristics include several of the following: Hydroelectric power industry experience. Structural or geotechnical professional engineer registration. Experience with construction oversight and construction management. Project engineering/management experience. Engineering proposal preparation experience. Experience preparing quantity take-offs and construction costs estimates. Perform hydraulic and hydrologic analysis of dams and water supply structures. A working familiarity with AutoCAD or Microstation.



In a nutshell, need a licensed civil engineer with structural design experience and someone who can do the technical design and lead/mentor junior engineers as part of a project team in design work. The ability to be a project manager and support proposal/marketing is also desirable, but not the key qualification.
