Job Listing: Biotechnology Technician

Aerotek is currently looking for a qualified Research Associates to work at our clients site. They assist doctors from around the world in testing for genetic variation and mutations in DNA and RNA. They also analyze samples for Phase II to IV studies.

JOB RESPSONIBLITIES:

-Primary role will be the production of DNA standard.
-Experienced candidates will have a good knowledge of DNA amplification, protein Purification, and molecular biology.
-Candidate must have a strong understanding of aseptic technique (used in the growth of DNA in E-coli) and PCR.
-50% of the job will be PCR work.
-Candidates must have experience in Gel electrophoresis, western/southern blotting. HPLC knowledge would be a big benefit.

LABORATORY TECHNIQUES:

-Include PCR, gel electrophoresis, dHPLC, DNA sequencing, DNA/RNA extractions, and real-time PCR.

Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related life science field is required. At least 6 months to one year of experience in a lab environment are must.

Prior experience with DNA sequencing, dHPLC, real-time PCR, and/or working in a GLP laboratory environment is preferred.
