Provide mass spec expertise to characterize protein products and impurities and provide critical analytical analysis for cell line generation and process development.
- Study glycosylation, protein folding and secretion to enhance recombinant protein productivity and quality.
- Independently develop methods for structural characterization and identification of proteins/peptides using multiple mass spectrometry instrumentation.
- Responsible for developing and executing a wide variety of biochemical and biophysical methods for protein analysis, including HPLC (size exclusion, ion-exchange, reversed-phase, etc), SDS-PAGE, IEF, UV-Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, and calorimetry.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- MS or PhD degree in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related field with a minimum of 2 years experience in industry.
- In-depth knowledge of mass spectrometry and intensive hands-on experience is required.
- Experience with bioinformatics/database tools for interpretation of MS data is also required.
- Experience with chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques are preferred.
- Basic knowledge of protein structure and function is essential.
- Expertise in glycan analysis and other bioanalytical techniques used to characterize and conduct early phase pre-formulation is required.
