Overview
The Business Support Managers (BSM) role is to work with the Company’s VP of Business Development (VP-BD) executives and other professionals to qualify, shape and close Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) contracts with law firms and in house legal departments. BSM must be prepared to travel depending on where new LPO opportunities present themselves.
Company provides LPO services including Contract Management, Document Review, Legal Research, Deposition Summaries and Litigation Support Services but is expecting to broaden its offering significantly in the near future.
The BSM will work very closely with VP –BD and other Company team members throughout the sales cycle by understanding and connecting the customer’s needs to Client’s LPO solutions.
Core duties & responsibilities
Working with marketing and other parts of the Company to research potential LPO targets and collating specific background data enabling a targeted high impact approach at board level outlining the value of LPO.
Then working with the VP –BD the approaching targets and engaging senior executives at “C” level to assess and understand their specific business issues and challenges and where applicable relating Company’s LPO capability and credentials.
During initial meetings with the clients the BSM will help the VP – BD identify candidate areas where an LPO solution may fit and then gain some commitment from the client to dedicate some of their internal resources to form a joint team to evaluate the case for LPO.
The BSM will work as part of the joint evaluation team collecting data about the way the client currently operates, building up an understanding of their current processes and procedures, how they use technology, current costs and service levels and other key performance metrics.
The BSM will lead the deal due diligence activities and will help shape and present a compelling business case for LPO with the key stakeholders within the client organization and Company.
As part of a team the BSM will ensure that all the constituent parts of Company are aligned in securing the client as a customer and that a detailed implementation plan is agreed with the customer.
Core experience and capabilities
Must have at least 5-7 years detailed knowledge of the way a law firm or an in-house legal department works. This experience may have been gained as a qualified legal practitioner or working with senior executives / partners in a change management / outsourcing capacity responsible for driving strategic change management programs.
You may have previously worked for a vendor proving business services to the legal marketplace and will be able to evidence a detailed and thorough knowledge of the legal industry, its drivers, issues, market dynamics etc and a proven track record of commercial success.
Your legal experience will have already enabled you to develop deep and credible relationships with senior stakeholders in the legal market and you will be able to leverage these in your new role.
With the ability to understand and shape complicated concepts and commercial models you will need a strong analytical mind and a real passion and enthusiasm for delivering measurable, quality results.
Ultimately it’s about convincing clients that the Company’s suite of LPO services can deliver measurable value so excellent influencing, written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Rate: $120,000 to $150,000 per Year
