Job Listing: Civil/Structural Materials Specialist

Overview:

A materials specialist is responsible for performing material take-offs as required, specification familiarization, spec information entry into the inventory system as required, material nesting, supplying cut lengths, scope of supply review and requisition creation and follow up. A materials specialist reports administratively to the Divisional Manager of Materials Management and functionally to the Project Materials Manager.

Responsibilities:

Familiarize themselves with project specifications. Load specification information into the inventory system as required. Perform material take-offs and/or reviews bills of material information provided by Engineering for entry into the inventory system. Reviews scope of supply and creates requisitions for the necessary material and equipment as required. Steel nesting, develop cut lengths and transmits to shops, reviews scope of supply and works surplus as required.

Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of Civil/Structural materials with ability to perform detailed material take offs from Engineering provided drawings.
