Title – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Introduction - An established start up medical device company in South San Francisco, devoted to creating innovative durable medical equipment specifically customized to the growing markets for sports medicine, rehabilitation, pain management, home health care, and orthopedic therapy, among other applications has an immediate opening for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.

Job Summary – We are looking for a nuts and bolts product design engineer with strong, currently active SolidWorks experience and one who knows how things work in the product design world. This individual has designed many products over the years and is "very familiar" with the plastics injection molding process. A consumer product designer or toy designer would be a great fit. Someone who is proficient with mechanisms and product component packaging design and knows how things work in the manufacturing world. The project is a one to two month contract to hire.

Job Duties – Major job duties include:
-Developing product designs using SolidWorks
-Developing product improvements using skills with plastic injection molding as needed
-Performing other related duties as required

Job requirements and qualifications-
-Proficient in SolidWorks
-Experience with plastics injection molding, consumer products, and toy designing
-Must have BSME
-5 to 8 years experience in electro-mechanical packaging design, analysis and documentation
-Thorough understanding of and ability to apply industry standards dimensioning and tolerance practices
