One of the largest investment and insurance companies in the United States is seeking an Oracle/.NET Developer.
Position Description:
The Oracle/.NET Developer will:

Utilize the Oracle toolset to maintain, design, develop, test, implement and document batch and online processes.
Interface with business customers, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, other Developers and IT Support Staff to complete assignments.

This is an estimated 6-month contract position, through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, based in New York City. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies on the East Coast.

Required Skills

Required Skills for this Oracle/.NET Developer position include the following:
This position requires a great level of understanding in Application Functions as well as in Oracle, PL/SQL, Performance Tuning, Data Modeling, Unix, and other technical artifacts.
Required Skills:

Understanding of Relational Database environments
Experience with the Oracle toolset using PL/SQL and SQL*Plus, Oracle Forms 4.5 or greater
Proven technical and analytical skills
Ability to develop work plans and follow through on assignments with minimal guidance
Analytical/problem-solving skills

Technical Skills:

Minimum 6-8 years of experience with Oracle RDBMS
Experience in Oracle 9i; knowledge of 10g a plus
Experience with Performance Tuning of Oracle database components for large size databases
Knowledge of .NET, BizTalk, HTML and/or XML a plus
Understanding of IIS, ODBC, ADO
Understanding of SOA, Design Patterns, Frameworks, Use Cases
Experience with UML a plus
Understanding of AutoSys a plus
Experience with Version Control software like VSS and ClearCase
Insurance application experience a plus

Knowledge of systems, configurations, and release procedures

Professional Requirements:

Experience in multi-departmental, enterprise-level initiatives
Experience building/implementing large mission-critical systems (1000+ users)
Strong understanding of the business and the business's relationship to automation
Demonstrated delivery of service exceeding customer expectations in a consultative or objective capacity
Ability to influence decisions with a degree of critical thinking based on experience and a grasp of the strategic intent of the project
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), including the ability to clearly document decisions
Knowledge of Insurance application a plus
