A major online retailer has an urgent need for a Manager of Network Systems.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Network Systems will be responsible for the design, build-out, monitoring, and maintenance of the system, network, and operational components of a high-transaction, international eCommerce platform across multiple data centers globally.
This position will also maintain Information Technology strategies by:
Managing staff
Researching and implementing technological strategic solutions that align with business direction(s)
The Manager will partner with:
The various departments within the Online Technology division
Multiple domestic and international corporate entities
Third-party business vendors
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Manager of Network Systems
Accomplishes IT Operations Human Resource objectives by:

Determines IT Operations service requirements by:
Analyzing needs of users/departments.

Plans e-business Operations Support by:
Analyzing information, service, and maintenance requirements.
Studying individual channel requirements.
Organizing Applications and Engineering teams.
Evaluating and purchasing hardware.
Maximizes site results by:
Designing and conducting functionality tests.
Monitoring operations and services.
Completing maintenance requirements.
Managing systems, including:
Permissions
Privileges
Security
Back-up
Restoration
Archiving
Providing Operating System, Internet, and Networking support.
Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables.
Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures, and Information Security and control structures.
Recommends Information Technology strategies, policies, and procedures by:
Evaluating organization outcomes.
Identifying problems.
Evaluating trends.
Anticipating requirements.
Accomplishes financial objectives by:
Forecasting requirements.
Assisting with annual budget.
Scheduling expenditures.
Analyzing variances.
Initiating corrective action.
Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Maintains Windows system performance by:
Performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning.
Troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks, and Operating and System Management setups.
Designing and running Windows System Load/Stress Testing.
Defining Windows system and operational Policies and Procedures.
Enhances department and organization reputation by:
Accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests.
Exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Examines and recommends changes to current business practices; develops and writes proposals.
Implements solutions by:
Monitoring project progress.

Required Skills
Required Skills for this Manager of Network Systems position include the following:
Four-year degree
Proven Technical Management experience in an eCommerce or Trading environment
Ability to:
Plan, manage (i.e. proficiency, processes and people), and problem-solve in a fast-passed, demanding environment
Analyze information and provide management-level reporting
Work in a team environment or independently with general guidelines and minimal supervision
Extensive experience with:
Network Maintenance
Network Design and Implementation
