Volt Workforce Solutions, a multinational provider of talent to Fortune 100 companies, has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking candidates for a variety of Volt positions on site at Caterpillar's facility located in Aurora, IL. These positions will range in skill level and duration.
This role is responsible for NPI, CPPD and current production activities as well as the execution of purchase orders for fabrications for Wheel Loaders. The buyer will work CPPD with his/her suppliers and is assigned to ensure capacity, improve quality and shipping performance for key Aurora suppliers. He/She also identifies and implements cost reductions on current product through improved supplier process capability, redesign and resourcing activities.
Required Skills
Buyer - Global Purchasing :
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Level Degree in related field.
Communication Skills: The buyer will act as a coordinator between the design team, supply chain and strategic sourcing to ensure the best outcome for the product groups. Excellent communication skills are required.
Teamwork/Customer Focus: Global Purchasing is a service organization. The buyer must be able to work with a diverse team under the pressures created by delivering cost, time and quality goals.
Analytical Skills: Large volumes of information must be processed and details tracked. An understanding of basic cost and financial information is critical. The buyer is expected to manage the supply base for his commodity with respect to cost, delivery performance and quality.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient with Excel. Knowledge of Client systems is highly desired (MCS, Lognet, etc.)
