Job Listing: IT BUYER
We have an IT Buyer position with one of our clients in Troy, MI. This is great long term opportunity for someone with experience in IT purchasing
RESPONSIBILITIES:

> Senior Buyers are responsible for procurement activities and dealing with cross-functional teams and suppliers to gather information, manage requests for quote, and source/award business.
> The Senior Buyer is responsible for researching the market for appropriate sources of supply, engaging vendors through an RFQ/ RFP process, negotiating the best solution per a sourcing strategy and maintaining the vendor relationship through the contract lifecycle to maximize third party value.
> The Senior Buyer may be exposed to various commodities, but will primarily be responsible for IT (software and hardware) and other general corporate products and services.
> The Senior Buyer will be called upon to lead projects and will be significantly involved in enterprise objectives, interact with many cross-functional groups, and will be accountable to achieve results.
> The successful candidate must be a solution oriented problem solver, possess the ability to persuade and influence external suppliers and internal customers.
> Research, prepare, manage and coordinate RFI, RFP and RFQ activities associated with projects, commodities and services assigned.
> Manage supplier performance and quality scorecard processes and presentations.
> Integrate and utilize technology and e-procurement tools (i.e. ERP systems, electronic RFP).
> Maintain commodity market intelligence (IT hardware, software, services, etc.).
Required Skills
> Minimum of 5 years prior successful experience (in Purchasing and/or the IT field is required
> Experience negotiating and implementing multi-million dollar enterprise agreements preferred
> Strong negotiations and interpersonal skills
> Possess understanding of RFI/RFP/RFQ, quote evaluation, freight terms, contract terms, payment terms, return of goods and other supply chain management principles
> Proficiency in an ERP system is a plus
> B.S. in Purchasing / Administration will be a plus
