The nation's leading health care services company is looking to hire an Entry-Level Software Development Engineer.
Position Description:
The Software Development Engineer is responsible for the development of software for Client-automated products. This includes:
Using requirements and designs to implement a solution.
Defining test plans and methods.
Executing testing.
Assisting with the deployment of new releases.
The Software Development Engineer must be accountable and responsible for working on business-critical products that operate 24/7/365 and are distributed nationwide to many clients.
The candidate must have the ability to provide Third Level support for all products.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Junior-Level Software Development Engineer:
Facilitates the use and improvement of a Software Development Life Cycle.
Uses requirements and designs to implement a solution, defining test plans and methods, executing testing, and assisting with the deployment of new releases.
Performs Product and System Testing.
Ensures that product behavior meets expected behavior.
Ensures that all components are complete and ready for installation, assembly, independent testing, and production.
Develops, tests, and maintains product installation programs.
Issues logging, tracking, analysis, reporting and management.
Releases control and coordination for multiple products.
Participates in the Software Development Life Cycle for new and existing products.
Develops documentation, including:
Test Plans
Installation Instructions
Internal Release Notes
Design Documents
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills for this Software Development Engineer (Junior/Entry-Level) position include the following:
Two (2) years of experience as a Software Development Engineer
Full Life Cycle Development experience
Strong Object-Oriented Development (OOD) and strong SQL Scripting skills and experience
Approximately two (2) years of experience with Crystal Reports; Crystal Reports v. 8.0 or higher development experience preferred
Business experience may possibly not be required, depending upon technical skills
Client/Server Software Development experience a plus
Good understanding or working knowledge of computer databases and SQL
Hands-on experience with ReportWriter
The following skills are required:
Technical Writing
System Documentation
Design Document-Management
Must be a demonstrated self-starter
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and creative problem-solving skills.
Bachelors degree in an IT-related field; 3.0+ GPA strongly desired
