This position is with  Director for Public Health Services, Occupational Medicine Department, Naval Health Clinic .

 

This position is covered by the Department of Defense (DOD) National Security Personnel System (NSPS).  Pay will be set within the range specified in this announcementand will be based on your qualifications, labor market data, and NSPS pay setting guidelines.  For more information on NSPS, please visit the website at http://www.cpms.osd.mil/nsps/index.html



Major Duties

Works to insure that preventative, diagnostic and rehabilitative audiological services are provided for all levels of personnel.  Services include: A.      The prevention of occupational hearing loss through noise measurement, hearing evaluation, hearing protection and education.B.       The clinical identification, quantification and assessment of hearing disorders.C.       The remediation of communication impairments through hearing aids and aural rehabilitation.D.      The determination of communicative fitness for duty.E.       The administration of the Hearing Conservation Program.F.       The evaluation of hearing loss compensation claims.

Full technical responsibility for independently initiating and accomplishing all tasks and function. No specialized, professional guidance of technical review of work is provided.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following qualification requirements: One year of Specialized experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. This experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression of the occupation in the organization.

Basic Qualification Requirement: Degree: For audiologist positions, master's degree that included 18 semester hours in the field of audiology with approved clinical practice.

All minimum eligibility and qualification requirements established by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must be met prior to appointment.

A security clearance is a requirement of this position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal.  If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.
