Job Listing: General Manager

This is a highly compensated and extremely high level position within the food distribution business. Our client provides logistics and distribution for many companies in the the food service business. Our client is the link to the needs of growers, shippers, and manufacturers with retail and foodservice distribution.

The GM directs and coordinates activities concerned with contacting buyers or growers to arrange for delivery of agricultural products to plants on a contract basis and/or providing suppliers with transportation (or transportation contracts) to expedite delivery of products or supplies to plants.

This individual will also direct and coordinate promotion of services performed to develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.

The GM analyzes division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and allocates operating budget.

The GM will also direct and coordinate activities concerned with all operations of the warehouse.

In addition, this individual will be responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
