The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor of Science degree or a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent working experience) with more than 3 years of direct experience. Experience in architecture and programming of CPU, chipset, and memory subsystems, including component register. Should possesses intricate knowledge of bus / bridge / and interconnect technologies. Experience in development and debug of Basic Input Output System (BIOS) for one or more BIOS code bases, such as EFI Framework based Tiano and APTIO* BIOS, or Legacy BIOS. Ability to apply BIOS expertise to understand diverse and complex Silicon validation requirements and requests, and create BIOS silicon modules to meet silicon Validation needs. Ability to create solutions targeting rapid debug of silicon components. Excellent system level debugging skills using a variety of debug tools, such as In-Target Probes (ITP), logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and error injection tools. Ability to investigate and resolve issues with hardware/BIOS/FW/OS implementations and recommend solutions. Strong skills in 'C' & C++, and includes ability to program in Assembly Language if required. Experience or knowledge of standards, such as Multiprocessor Specification, ACPI, SMBIOS, etc. and the associated technologies such as PC architecture, PCI, USB, SATA, etc. Working knowledge in software engineering development process, project life cycle, PC BIOS architecture and server PC Operating Systems. Ability to travel to various company sites for onsite debug support during system power-on. Will be responsible for developing Basic Input Output System (BIOS) to enable Server CPU, Chipset, Memory, and Platforms used in Silicon and Compatibility validation environments, and supporting that BIOS during validation of company Silicon and Platforms. Support activities including partnering with validation teams to debug and root cause issues and resolving BIOS issues reported by validation groups. You will be expected to apply software engineering principles to improve quality and efficiency.
