TEKsystems has a permanent placement SQL DBA opportunity with our client in Clarksville, TN.

Position Scope and Responsibilities:

As SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of multiple SQL databases that serve as the core backend system for the various eBusiness extranet and Internet applications. You will also help ensure that our various SQL server environments are stable, scalable, and perform to meet the needs of the existing and future applications. You will work closely with System Architects, Site Support, Engineering, and Project Management to resolve database related issues and provide database solutions for complex and highly integrated applications.

Position Responsibilities:

- Provide day-to-day SQL database administration and support which includes performance tuning, backup & recovery, and problem solving to support the availability and maintenance of all eBusiness databases
- Design and structure databases, script and tune stored procedures
- Monitor SQL server infrastructure and databases for optimal data storage, performance, and connectivity
- Perform the setup database replication between various reporting, development, staging, and production environments
- Support, troubleshoot, and maintain the SQL Server hardware and Microsoft Clustering software
- Participate in the selection, evaluation and implementation of new technologies as they relate to the SQL environments to improve eBusiness site capabilities and functionality

- Capability to interface effectively with internal and external customers to promote eBusiness as a group, with a “Can Do” attitude, is required
- Has desire to continually improve SQL database administration skills
- Must be a proven, self motivated individual who can work, organize and complete assignments in a timely manner without close supervision
- Must be comfortable giving a presentation to large audiences
- Experience with Six Sigma methodologies and/or leading Six Sigma green belt projects would be a plus
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in IT, CS, MIS, Business is required, with a minimum of 5 years experience in Database Analysis and Administration; preferably with Microsoft SQL Server
- An Associate’s Degree in IT, CS, MIS, Business, or related discipline will be considered with minimum of 7 years experience in an IT support role
Extensive practical experience with working with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 running on Windows 2003 is required
- Must have in-depth knowledge of database design, tuning and optimization, problem determination, troubleshooting, and resolution
- Must have knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services and strong Transact SQL experience is required
- Ability to support servers running Windows Server 2003 with Internet Information Services 6 is required; experience with Microsoft Cluster Services a plus
- Development experience with ASP and ASP.NET/C# would be beneficial
