POSITION: Software Engineer
LOCATION: Flagstaff, Arizona

SUMMARY:
The Software Engineer researches, designs, and develops computer software systems to support the development of the Wind Power company's products and customer interfaces. The Software Engineer will be involved in developing a wide range of software applications including embedded 8 bit programs for dedicated monitoring devices, DSP code for control of power generation equipment, desktop applications for monitoring and updating dedicated devices, and network applications for collecting, analyzing, and displaying data from thousands of wind turbines in the field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
-Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
-Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate and develop interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
-Consult with Sales and Marketing to understand and meet customer requirements.
Develop software using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
-Test, implement, and diagnose failures with software systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Four years industry experience in system software development in C/C++
-Scripting language experience (Python, Perl, Ruby, Lua, OCam1, Lisp)
-Command line and embedded debugging experience
-Delivered projects targeted for multiple architechtures and operating systems
-Ability to communicate effectively through phone, e-mail, instant messaging with co-workers, customers, contractors, and management.
WISHLIST EXPERIENCE:
-ARM processor software development
-Assembly coding (from scratch and modified compiler output)
-SQL query writing and table design
-Data mining
-DSP interrupt routine development
-Forward Error Correction code design, development, and testing
-Experience with socket APIs, inter-process communication and threaded programming
-National Instruments Labview development environment
-RS-422/485 full and half-duplex communication protocols
-Labview, Java, Matlab, and Mathematica
-RF Communications (specifically Chipcon transceivers)
-Linux and GCC
-Power supply design
-FET and IGBT drives/power electronics
-UL 1741 and IEEE 1547 familiarity
-FCC conducted and radiated emissions familiarity
-RF transmitter/receiver design
-Ability to travel internationally (have passport)
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or greater from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of formal training and experience.
