Coordinate laboratory testing operations to meet customer requirements for availability and timeliness of test results, while ensuring the efficient use of laboratory equipment and available labor. This position supports the testing activities in Durham for samples from several facilities, and for field tests and development testing.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Schedule laboratory operations to ensure that testing activities meet scheduled customer requirements and contracted delivery dates.
- Enter project data into LIMS and set up testing schedules into laboratory reactor.
- Monitor daily test progress to ensure timely completion.
- Track, update and communicate project progress with project management and communicate status in weekly project planning meetings.
- Create a detailed weekly testing schedule for each reactor. Issue weekly schedules and daily updates as priorities change, plus coordinate and communicate schedule changes with appropriate departments.
- Analyze testing delays and recommend corrective actions.
- Make recommendations concerning equipment capacities, rates, and crew size.
- Prepare reports to identify status of test progress, schedule attainment, and capacity utilization efficiency.
- Coordinate with laboratory staff and maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance and accommodate demand maintenance needs.
- Manage the final reporting to the customer of all laboratory reactor results
Minimum Qualifications Required
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in laboratory operations or production planning
- Expert in Excel and Access programming
- Self – motivated / self – starter / able to work independently.
- Must exhibit good team building skills.
- Must possess strong attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Positive professional attitude in dealing with all levels of organization
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Goal oriented / assertive / tactful / dependable.
- APICS certification a plus
