Aerotek is currently seeking an Engineering Manager for a client located in the Corning, NY area.
Position Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Engineering Manager provides supervision, planning, training and procedures for the Engineering Department(Design Engineering and Document Control). The Engineering Manager is responsible to ensure all work is assigned and completed in a timely fashion for all on-going contracts. The Engineering Manager also provides the primary input for the PMP and conducts reviews.
Daily Tasks:
Provides direction to the Engineering Project Leads, Design Engineers, Draftsman and Document Control members of the Engineering Department. Establish and standardize, in conjunction with the Director of Engineering, the different procedures and processes to be followed by the Engineering Department.
Manage all aspects of the design, plan preparation, client coordination and tracking project status. Solve design problems using engineering calculations and following general design standards.
Liaises with related departments and divisions within the organization to ensure efficient flow of information and optimum department performance.
Interface with clients and public agencies. Responsible for proposals, change orders and technical specifications. Provide input for budget projections.
Conducts employee performance appraisals and develops action plans in conjunction with employees and Director of Engineering to further improve performance.
Oversee between 5 and 10 employees in the engineering department.
Education
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least 3-5 years experience in an Engineering Management role is required.

Rate: $95,000 to $105,000 per Year
