Job Listing: ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN
Volt is seeking a talented Electronic Technician who is looking for a short term assignment (2-3 months).
This position requires a self-motivated individual who will be responsible for configuring, testing, troubleshooting and repair of audio and video switching products (completed systems and/or subassemblies) using appropriate test equipment and as specified by procedures, training and/or sales and engineering requirements.
This employee has the knowledge and skill to perform all required tasks and experience running various types of test equipment within their work center.
This position interacts with functional groups within client including Product Development, Manufacturing and Technical Support.
Essential Job Functions:
Preparing work by reviewing configuration sheets, test procedures, schematics, and bill of materials.
Assembly as required with emphasis on Quality
Troubleshoot and resolve failures and issues as required.
Testing of assemblies and subassemblies where required.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Documentation of actions and work performed
Physical Activity/Work Environment:
ESD controlled manufacturing environment to include noise levels below 85 decibels, repetitive type work; long periods of sitting or standing; little travel.
Applicants will be working around solder flux and isopropyl alcohol.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs from floor to above head occasionally.
Repetitive motion required during testing/assembly operation. Hearing protection optional based on noise levels less than OSHA/WISHA standards.
Equipment Used:
Soldering station, hand tools, automatic screwdrivers, desk top computers, O-scopes, digital multi-meters, and other test equipment as required.

Required Skills
Associates degree in electronics or related field or equivalent experience.
Understanding of ESD and requirements when working is such an environment
Experience in hardware, troubleshooting and repair.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel.
Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action processes a plus.
Experience with MRP systems and PLM systems such as JD Edwards and Agile a big plus.
Experience with multiple audio and video signal types (S-Video, RGBHV, Composite, etc) a huge plus.
Ability to work in a team environment with others as well as management.
