JOB SUMMARY: The Production Manager has primary oversight for the daily work and paper flow on a specific aircraft to maintain aircraft schedule, and coordinates with the Department Managers to achieve the aircraft schedule goals. The Production Manager has the responsibility & authority to prioritize production and inspection department schedules to achieve key milestone events in the overall production schedule, coordinate the adjustment of staffing levels and work sequencing. The task is to maintain schedule and budget objectives and general work procedures in conformance with company standards (e.g., work area housekeeping, safety rules, parts handling, task budget administration, and effective use of material, planning, and production control procedures). Production, Quality Control, and Support Department Managers (i.e. Material and Planning) manage their personnel assigned to the project, and must interact proactively with assigned Program Manager to achieve project technical, budget, and schedule milestones.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Interacts with Department Managers, Supervisors & Leads as required regarding assigned personnel to maintenance and modification projects.
2. Monitors progress of assigned tasks and provides corrective action for schedule anomalies.
3. Assures safety procedures are observed at all times and that any extraordinary procedures involving safety issues are coordinated with the Department Manager (and others as necessary) before accomplishment.
4. Supervises daily work plans in coordination with the Department Manager consistent with the overall production schedule and manpower allocation.
5. Development of Level 3 and 4 schedules as required.
6. Point of contact with customer.
7. Provides input for work scope additions with attention to schedule impact.
8. Prepares schedule recovery plans jointly with Manager, Supervisor and/or Lead.
9. Monitors and reports to critical path status daily.
10. Coordinates technical issues on the aircraft as required.
11. Identifies sequential issues as they arise and re-flow schedules accordingly.
12. Identify and report all significant items and events to Program Management.
13. Responsible for production and safe keeping of the aircraft and coordinates the direction of the work force accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Requires High School education or equivalent reading, writing and math abilities.
2. A minimum of ten years aircraft maintenance/modification experience.
3. A minimum of five years experience in aircraft supervisory/management.
4. Preferable to posses an FAA Airframe and Power Plant license.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. FAA Airframe and Powerplant licenses.
2. Three to five years experience in supervising others.
3. Proficiency in the use of Aircraft and other aides, equipment, and
techniques
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Be able to read, write, & understand the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills – High School level minimum
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply job knowledge & experience to make sound judgments.
