MECHANICAL ENGINEER / INDUSTRIAL DESIGNER:
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening as a Mechanical Engineer/Industrial Designer with an industry-leading combination pharmaceutical/medical device company specializing in the production of wound care solutions and application instruments.
JOB SUMMARY:
This person will be responsible for all device support/development and all aspects from design planning through completion of production for an apparatus to promote wound healing.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
** Develop medical device project plan from concept, design, and through production
** Manage testing of the flow characterization system. Develop test methods, design and build test apparatus, and determine critical parameters that characterize the system.
** Work with process development to insure design for manufacturability and scalability at targeted costs; manage project budget
** Implement medical device design control elements
** Other leadership responsibilities apply
EDUCATION/SKILL/ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
** BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Bioengineering, or related field
** Minimum 5 years experience in medical device product development
** Minimum 8 years experience in medical device design
** Ability to make Prototypes and test apparatus
** Strong experimental laboratory skills; ability to work with external manufacturing facilities
** Creative thinker; great written/verbal communication
PREFERRED SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
** Experience developing medical devices from concept through production
** Experience designing microfluidic systems with electromechanical systems
** Experience with programming data sensor computer-based electronic control systems
** Experience working with external vendors and design companies
** Experience with FDA submissions and medical device design; experience with the regulatory processes (cGMP, FDA) preferred
