Job Listing: Motor Vehicle Mechanic

DS2 is hiring a motor vehicle mechanic for our program at Fort Hood in Killeen, TX.

THE MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANIC REPAIRS, REBUILDS, OR OVERHAULS MAJOR ASSEMBILIES OR MILITARY AND CIVILIAN VEHICLES, TRUCKS, TRACTORS, AND TRAILERS. WORK INVOLVES MOST OF THE FOLLOWING: DIAGNOSING THE SOURCE OF TROUBLE AND DETERMINING THE EXTENT OF REPAIRS REQUIRED; REPLACING WORK OR BROKE PARTS SUCH AS PISTON RINGS, BEARING, OR OTHER ENGINE PARTS, GRINDING AND ADJUSTING VALVES, REBUILDING CARBURETORS, OVERHAULING TRANSMISSIONS, AND REPAIRING FUEL INJECTION, LIGHTING, AND IGNITION SYSTEMS. REQUIRES ROUNDED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE USUALLY ACQUIRED THROUGH A FORMAL APPRENTICESHIP OR EQUIVALENT TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE.

MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF 5 YEARS TACTICAL VEHICLE MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE WITH A MINIMUM OF 3 YEARS COMMERCIAL VEHICLE EXPERIENCE. MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH MS OFFICE COMPUTER PROGRAMS AND BE ABLE TO PRODUCE SPREAD SHEET REPORTS. MUST BE ABLE TO READ, SPEAK, WRITE, UNDERSTAND, AND ORALLY COMMUNICATE IDEAS/INSTRUCTIONS CLEARLY IN ENGLISH. MUST BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND TECHNICAL PUBLICATIONS AND DIAGRAMS. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WELL WITH OTHER INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNICATE RULES AND REGULATIONS. MUST POSSESS OR BE ABLE TO OBTAIN A CLASS A (CDL) DRIVER'S LICENSE.
