Job Listing: Weld Engineer

Aerotek in Greenville, SC is currently in need of a Robotic Welding Engineer for one of our clients in Spartanburg, SC. This is a first shift position paying anywhere from $60K-$75K depending on experience. Robotic Welding Engineers will be responsible for the support of all welding processes and applications to produce quality products through repair and troubleshooting of the weld equipment. They will also assign job duties and responsibilities to Weld Techs and Engineering Mechanic in order to support assembly production.

Duties Include:
- Supervise hourly Weld Techs for PM’s as well as support assignments
- Spec out welding equipment and tooling for new and existing product
- Attend run-offs for approving weld equipment and tooling
- Develop and establish weld parameters for new or existing equipment
- Work to identify cost savings
- Communicate safe policies for job performance
- Schedule and attend necessary company meetings
- Work with other departments to solve problems.

Job Requirements:
- Extensive experience in weld assembly area of automotive support industry.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience with quality and tooling related issues.
- Knowledge of SPC and CMM data.
- Tradesman certification based on experience.
- Mechanical / Electronic studies or technical training.
- Knowledge of resistance welding and robotics.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Computer skills.
- Must have at least 2 years of automotive manufacturing experience in the field
- Must have a 2 year degree preferably in Welding.
