Job Listing: Chemist

Aerotek Scientific is actively recruiting for a Chemist with a company in the Rochester area. A qualified candidate will have:

-their Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or preferably Organic Chemistry

-a minimum of 4 years of experience in a laboratory setting doing organic chemistry and synthesis

-experience with GC, IR, UV-Vis, and H-NMR, and experience with this instrumentation conducting method validation and development

-this person should also have knowledge of SPC, SWC, and experimental design

-they should understand the quality process


This person will be working primarily in the product development group but will work very closely with the chemists in the quality group as well. This person's responsibilities will include:

-They will investigate, develop and transfer new epoxidation processes for current products through the lab and pilot plant to production

-Perform experiments to develop epoxidation processes with capability for new products and scale it up to pilot and production

-Troubleshoot and improve safety and economics of current production processes

  • B.S. IN CHEMISTRY OR ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
  • AT LEAST 4 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN LAB DOING ORGANIC CHEMISTRY AND SYNTHESIS
  • KNOW/UNDERSTAND QUALITY PROCESSES
  • KNOWLEDGE OF ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRY AND TECHNIQUES
  • EXPERIENCE WITH METHOD VALIDATION AND METHOD DEVELOPMENT
