Job Listing: Thermal Operator

Job Summary:

Operates computer based thermal card printing and encoding machines.

Inspects output to ensure accuracy of imprinted information.

Performs routine equipment maintenance such as changing ribbons, print heads, etc.

* Adheres to predetermined production schedules.

* Completes daily logs and coordinates work with prior shift.

Essential Functions:

* Efficiently operates 6 thermal card printing and encoding machines. Must be performed from standing position

* Lifts and carries sleeve (box) of cards weighing a maximum of 5 ½ lbs. from table height and loads sleeve into thermal printer. Returns completed sleeves to table height conveyor. Sleeves may be lifted and carried

* Individually or in multiples to limit of employee’s weight restriction.

* Inspects printed pieces for accuracy. Must be performed from standing position.

* Minimal data entry into computer to set parameters of printing and encoding requirements. Involves clicking on file only.

* Completes daily logs and coordinates work with prior shift.

* Changes small parts and makes adjustments intermittently.

* Performed from a standing position.

* Adjustments generally take 10 – 15 minutes to complete.

* This is a minimal requirement as lead personnel within the department make most of the adjustments.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Performs additional tasks as required within required physical restrictions.

Qualifications:

* Ability to read, write and speak English to the extent of understanding work tickets and written directions.

* Accurate basic math skills as acquired by completion of 8th grade.

* Prior inspection or quality checking experience.

* Normal eyesight, with or without corrective lenses.
