Major Duties

***The organizational location of this position is: ISSW/EN, Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) Wing,  Los Angeles AFB, CA****
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Chief, Test and Evaluation Branch, SBIRS Engineering and Integration Directorate, SBIRS Wing.  Plans, organizes, and directs the SBIRS Wing Engineering and Integration Directorate test and evaluation activities of the organization with responsibility for the development of major aspects of key Air Force programs of national significance and/or essential operating programs.  Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.  Makes periodic and comprehensive assessment and evaluation of program goals, and objectives, which will provide a basis for long-range planning to enhance the organization's management capabilities.  Represents the program office with higher levels within the organization and contractor organizations, and external commands/agencies.  Works in conjunction with the contracting officer to approve terms and conditions set forth in contract negotiations, contracting plans, budgets, and changes to the scope of work to be done by the contractor.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS.  This position is in the Excepted Service.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level to qualify for appointment at the GS-14 grade level.  Specialized experience is that which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
