Job Listing: Video Communication Technician
A Global Enterprise Visual Communication Solutions company has a six-month contract position available for a Video Communication Technician to work as part of a team.
Job Roles and Responsibilities:
The Video Communication Technician:
Operates VTC and AV (Audio Visual) equipment.
Assists in Video Conference reservations, as well as Video Conference call setups.
Provides general Video Conference call support with End Users.
Monitors and responds to equipment alarms.
Performs manual call setups and reconfiguration on the Digital Access Control System (DCCS), MCU (Multi-point Control Unit), and Inverse Multiplexer (IMUX) as necessary.
Performs troubleshooting of the PRI (Primary Rate Interface) and BRI (Basic Rate Interface).
Fulfills all other duties as assigned.

This is an estimated 6-month contract position (with possibility of extension), through Volt Technical Resources - a division of a Fortune 1000 publicly traded Staffing Industry Leader, based in New York City. We are among the largest IT staffing companies in the US for contract/temporary and direct hire placements and support most of the top rated IT companies on the East Coast.
Required Skills
Required Skills for this Video Communication Technician position include the following:
Skills and Abilities:
Experience with Polycom and Tandberg VTC equipment configuration
Experience with Control Systems such as AMX and Crestron operations
Skill with AV and DL equipment operation, as well as some troubleshooting experience
Working knowledge of IT Network and Infrastructure technologies
Working knowledge of General Business software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Project
Understanding of Cryptographic Security equipment, i.e., KIV-7 and KG-194.4
Knowledge of Keymat handling/destruction procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A good understanding of PC applications
Excellent interpersonal skills in order to interface constantly with customer
Ability to effectively troubleshoot problems
Education and Qualifications:
A BA Degree in a technical subject and/or equivalent, and related work experience
1-3 years as a Technician in the Audio Visual or affiliated industry
InfoComm CTS certification highly desirable with Advanced CTS-I certification desirable
Certified Videoconference Engineer (CVE) certification desirable
