Job Listing: Applications Development Manager
Volt Technical Resources is seeking an Applications Development Manager for a contract-to-hire opportunity.
The Applications Development Manager is a hands-on development position that will be responsible for managing the development activities of the application/web development team, providing effective leadership to satisfy business unit requirements, meeting project schedules and guiding the development strategy for the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide team members with guidance and input for most day-to-day projects.
SQL administrator for all internal SQL databases.
Responsible for training, mentoring and coaching of staff, as well as performance management of staff.
Facilitate meetings and conduct needs analysis resulting in requirements definitions and functional specifications.
Guide and implement policies and standards for information delivery, security and availability.
Conduct formal and informal presentations on application/web development topics.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of the business units that the applications support.
Establish project estimates and assign resources to meet project deadlines; will act as a resource for team members regarding all phases of the application development lifecycle.
Provide regular status reports for IT management and business unit stakeholders.

Required Skills
Successful track record with minimum of 5 years application development experience and E-business/Web support experience, including formal IT leadership.
BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, preferred.
Strong Customer Service skills; ability to maintain a customer service philosophy while executing relevant duties.
Proven in-depth knowledge and understanding of best practices in Internet architecture, version control, change management, development and relational database design.
Experience leading custom application software development teams and managing outsourced consulting services.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
Experience in Microsoft .Net, SQL, ASP, C# 2.0, VB, XML, Crystal Reports, Access and web services development technologies.
Strong project management skills.
Experience with office tools (Microsoft Office: Access, Excel, Word), diagramming tools (Visio) and project management tools (MS Project) preferred.
Association background and/or experience with iMIS a plus.
