Job Listing: Desktop / Server Support Analyst

TEKsystems has an immediate Full Time (Permanent) opportunity available for an IT Analyst in the Champaign area.
Our client is an International company, so applicants will have the opportunity to travel to the UK for training and will provide support within the US and Internationally.

SCOPE OF WORK
The Analyst will work as part of an overall service desk team ensuring that all IT services are provided and delivered to meet the required SLA. This will include support for desktop, network and server hardware and software to ensure that end users can accomplish business tasks. Problem resolution will involve the use of diagnostic and help request tracking tools, as well as in-person, hands-on help and remote user support.

Principal responsibilities include:
o Maintaining a network virus system (including across all Notebooks/Desktops) and ensuring the network is appropriately equipped to defend itself against virus attack or unauthorized access
o Creation and deletion of user accounts, including the setting of user rights on the network
o Maintenance, support and security of all parts of the network
o Ensuring access to the relevant areas of the network, including email, file and print facilities and the company MIS
o Maintaining, supporting, training and securing Remote Access Users
o Supporting and maintaining an email system.
o PC/Notebook and Printer Support.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. At least 3 years in a similar role supporting PC’s and Servers operating Microsoft software.
2. Knowledge of supporting the following:
- Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Linux based operating systems
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Exchange 2003
- Mobile devices including Blackberry and enterprise server.
- Networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS / DHCP, LAN, WAN, VPN, ADSL routers and modems)
