Job Listing: Infrastructure Architect

1. Develop enterprise architecture artifacts including current state architecture, target state architecture, architectural roadmaps, referential architecture patterns and technology standards.
2. Function as an infrastructure architect within the pre-project phases of an IT program, including the development or oversight of the future state technology models.
3. Assess the future state technology architecture for adherence to target state direction, or validate deviation justification and the recovery plans.
4. Contribute to the overall alignment of IT development teams, IT database teams, and IT Operations.
5. Develop technical models and documentation, and participate in the development of multi-level architectural models.
6. Review and assess impact of proposed scope changes to the future state technology architecture.
7. Assist in program intake planning, estimating, and scheduling.
8. Maintain the technology standards list, ownership of technology lifecycle management, and new technology on-boarding.
9. Create and lead centers of excellence (COE) for the delivery of technology architecture artifacts.
10. Perform other duties as needed and as directed by supervisor.
Requirements:
1. Experience: Minimum 4 years experience as an Infrastructure Architect within a medium to large company. This position will be working closely with IT Operations, so a background in IT Operations is a must.
2. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or an additional 4 years of enterprise architecture experience.
3. Experience: Some experience with documentation in all sub-architecture areas is required, as well as a proficiency in the documentation of the technology sub-architecture area. A proficiency in the security sub-architecture area is preferred.
4. Technology: Must have experience with the technology architecture and design of n-tiered web based systems within the .net and java environments. Knowledge of heterogeneous systems integration and information fabric is preferred. Experience with Metis and other enterprise architecture tools is a definite plus.
5. Skills/Abilities: Must have a solid understanding of the basic EA concepts, EA theory, documentation frameworks, and UML 2.0 modeling. Must have a strong technical/infrastructure background. Must have the ability to plan and accomplish goals within a team environment. Candidate must be able to influence others and be able to demonstrate pier leadership skills. Ability to multi-task is required.
