Job Listing: Windows Capacity Planning and Management

Our client, is chartered with the management and oversight of the Wintel Server Capacity. Ensure all capacity is being used to its maximum potential, this will include:
Experience with capacity management and planning in a windows environment
Reporting and Analysis on Server Utilization
Technical data mining of current utilization and capacity
Execution of migrations using virtual to physical migration and physical to physical tools
Write technical documentation pertaining to the migration options
Metric Reporting and analysis of environment
Technical Process Documentation
Communicating changes and updates to appropriate audience

Required Skills:

This position requires previous experience with Capacity Management and Planning in a Wintel environment including reporting and analysis on server utilization. This position requires the ability to provide both technical and process documentation.

This person will work with technical support and other IT areas as appropriate throughout development and implementation processes. Typically 5 or more years of technical data gathering, capacity and utilization planning is required.

Experience in the Windows environment is critical to this position, including knowledge of Windows OS and VMware.

Knowledge of or Practical Experience with physical to physical server moves and capacity utilization.
Knowledge of utilities or tool to perform physical to physical server relocations / migrations
Additionally knowledge of VMWare is a plus. Database technologies is required for the manipulation of capacity and utilization data. Windows scripting technologies a plus.

Requires strong interpersonal skills. Candidates must be self-motivated, work well either independently or as part of a team and capable of balancing all aspects of developing a serviceable environment
