TEKsystems' client has an immediate need for a Requirements Engineering Practice Manager. This position is located in Austin,TX and will be 12+ months in duration.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop a formal CMM/CMMI Level 2 requirements engineering practice for a large (>$300M) program
- Manage and track all existing functional requirements across a large multi-system program
- Ensure that all existing requirements are appropriately documented and traced to Texas Nodal Protocols (business rules specific to how the Texas Nodal Market should run) as well as project level requirements.
- Ensure requirements are clearly defined and interpreted appropriately across project teams and business owners to ensure they are implemented correctly.
- Coordinate and track all individual and cross functional system changes across a large multi system program throughout the program lifecycle
- Coordinate and track all Nodal Protocol Revision Requests (NPRRs) throughout the program lifecycle
- Develop a strong working relationship with Project Managers and Business owners to ensure system changes are appropriately packaged and prioritized at both the project and program levels
- Oversee and streamline the requirements management and change control processes
- Develop and implement best practices for requirements management/change control, document standardized procedures and ensure program compliance
- Work with the Quality Assurance group to ensure procedures are followed correctly and all appropriate documentation is created at the project and program levels
- Work with the scheduling team to ensure system changes are incorporated into the integrated program schedule, track the implementation of the all changes and provide verification of implementation
- Work closely with Business Owners to ensure that business process changes are implemented on schedule and the appropriate documentation is provided.
- Produce and distribute change control status reports, as well as statistical and trending reports
- Conduct Requirements Management/Change Control improvement reviews in order to continuously improve system delivery at all levels
- Effectively facilitate Change Control Board (CCB) meetings in order to establish priorities and coordinate delivery of the change across multiple systems.
Required Skills
- A minimum of 10 years direct experience building formal requirements engineering practices for programs at least $300M in size that ensures formal traceability from business requirements through test cases
- A minimum of 10 years experience managing, coordinating and tracking requirements across programs in a CMMI Level 2-3 environment
- A minimum of 3 years of change control experience with large scale programs
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills; The ability to foster collaborative and cross functional discussion within large groups of people possessing strong personalities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational skills; detail oriented
- Working knowledge of gathering and managing requirements using iterative delivery
- The ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment with volatile schedules and tight timelines
Desired Skills:
- Experience using various requirements management tools such as Requisite Pro
- Knowledge of the utility industry, specifically ISO’s or the Texas utility market
Minimal Education Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree required
