Sr. Software Engineer

Basic Function

-Design and implement STB system software.
-Develop OCAP Platform software for various hardware targets.
-Integrate OCAP software stack
-Support internal and external development teams and OCAP middleware licensee.

Accountabilities

-Understand the development policy and architecture of Panasonic OCAP middleware.
-Execute the following tasks by collaborating with OCAP development teams in Japan and other regions.

-Develop and integrate OCAP Platform software compliant with Panasonic OCAP porting API for various hardware targets.
-Analyzes, design, and develop OCAP platform software and STB/DTV resident software.
-Support OCAP middleware team and OCAP middleware licensee
Scope and Competency Requirements.

MAJOR PROBLEM SOLVING CHALLENGES
-Design complex modules which impact multiple systems without breaking anything.
-Isolate defects to their root cause in a real-time environment.
-Create solutions in a system viable and sustainable manner

COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS
-Able to effectively communicate with people whose first language is not English.
-Able to speak to hardware and software issues.
-Able to write clear technical and procedural documentation

KNOW-HOW REQUIREMENT
-System requirements analysis and embedded system design.
-Implementation of multitasking systems in C.
-Embedded Linux development.
-Hardware/software system integration.
-Digital video decoding software design and development.
-STB/DTV software design and development.
-US Cable head end and its end-to-end system.
-Conditional Access (CA) systems

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
-BSCS or equivalent plus 10 years experience. Strong technical understanding.
