Job Listing: Telecom Installer

We are currently hiring field technicians for our Deerfield, IL facility. There are four open positions on the 1st shift and pay between 21.31-21.65/hour.

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE THIER OWN VAN OR TRUCK THAT CAN CARRY LADDERS. (Milage is reimbursed).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION (but not limited to):

ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE 3-5 YEARS+ OF INSTALLING THE FOLLOWING:

-LOW VOLTAGE CABELING (CAT 3, 5, AND 6)
-FIBER OPTIC CABELING
-ELECTRICAL WORK (120V PREFERRED)
-PHONE INSTALLATION
-COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE
-WIRELESS INTERNET (MODEMS, HUBS, ROUTERS, ETC.)
-RF NETWORK (SURVEYING, INSTALLATION AND TROUBLESHOOTING)
-CCTV
-POS EQUIPMENT (PRINTERS, SCANNERS, FAX MACHINES, ETC.)

- Reading and understanding scope of work provided for any given job

- Checking in and out of every job site

- Greeting customer

- Mounting of technology hardware

- Running any cabling required to power hardware

- Troubleshooting and verifying voltage, determining current/resistance and wiring continuity

- Testing technology hardware for proper functionality

- Capturing pictures via digital camera/phone of work product and uploading to company database through web-based process

- Cleaning up work site

- Consistently following all standard electrical and installation safety procedures

- Obtaining customer approval and sign-off of final work product

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- 5 to 10 years experience predominately with low voltage electrical installation or troubleshooting. Does require some experience with commercial electrical installation such as move, add and change work (installation of new dedicated and branching of existing circuits)

- Certified Electrician a plus

- Electrician license a plus

- Proficient computer skills including accessing and working using web-based technology and resources, proficiency in Microsoft word and excel, as well as using a variety of computer peripheral equipment.

- Ability to read and understand schematic drawings

- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, practices, tools and equipment of electrical trade

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that include the ability to interact with customers and internal support organizations.

- Able to train and supervise 1 to 5 technicians

- Transportation to travel from work site to work site (multiple in one day) within major metropolitan area

- Valid Driver’s License
