The position is a key member of the nursing executive leadership group. The position has broad oversight over the complex programs that fall under the umbrella of Behavioral Health programs. The ACNS/BH works in close collaboration with colleagues in nursing, administration and across care lines.
Major Duties
The position is a key member of the nursing executive leadership group and is directly in charge of nursing staff assigned to Patient Care Services. The position also has broad oversight over the complex programs that fall under the umbrella of Behavioral Health programs. The Associate Chief Nursing Service for Behavioral Health & Sciences (ACNS/BH&S) works in close collaboration with colleagues in nursing, administration and across care lines. This position directs 1 Nurse Manager of the inpatient unit, the Seriously Mentally Ill Case Manager, 4 Mental Health Intensive (Nurse) Case Managers, the Substance Abuse Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program Admissions Coordintor (RN), the Psychiatric Outpatient Clinic Nurse, the Behavioral Health Lab Nurse Case Manager, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at the Pottsville Community Based Outpatient Clinic and the nursing staff of the acute inpatient unit. The ACNS/BH&S is directly responsible for all aspects of nursing care delivered to patients in the inpatient and outpatient mental health programs. The ACNS/BH&S participates in strategic planning and forecasting for goal achievement; coordinates oversight, organization, development and implementation of plans to successfully undergo accreditation by JCAHO and other regulatory agencies; negotiates and promotes effective labor management relationships and participates in negotiation of agreements as required; and assures the application of EEO principles.

Qualifications
Qualification requirements include:
a. Masters degree in nursing or a related field, as well as meeting all administrative requirements outlined in VA Handbook 5005.
b. A minimum of 5 years of professional nursing practice in progressively more responsible leadership assignments in clinical, administrative, educational and/or research areas.
c. Free and unrestricted license to practice nursing.
d. Demonstrated ability to act autonomously and to seek direction as needed.
e. Demonstrated dynamic leadership skills and a high degree of personal and professional skills.
f. Demonstrated knowledge of patient care management, financial management, strategic planning, human resources management and continuous quality improvement.
Masters degree in nursing from an NLN accredited program or related field.
You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
You must submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test before you can be appointed into this position.

Salary Range: 77,996.00 - 103,725.00 USD per year
