Volt Technical Resources is seeking a dedicated, energetic, team-player for the position of Transmission Design Engineer.

This Transmission Design Engineer role is a high visibility position. These positions will direct and participate in the concept and design or countershaft or planetary transmissions for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability. This position will be accountable for contributing to the concept, development and design of complex components, subsystems or processes. This position performs complex analysis work, identifies design problems and resolves problems. Responsibilities include working closely with controls engineers, test engineers, and software engineers to determine the hardware configuration, control strategy, software requirements and shift parameters that will maintain transmission life.





Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline

- Knowledge and experience with mechanical designs, including rotating components

- Knowledge and experience with solid modeling/drawing tools such as Pro-E

- Knowledge and experience with mechanical analysis

Desirable Qualifications

- Transmission design or development experience

- Friction material design or test experience


- Knowledge of electronic, mechanical and hydraulic systems and components

- Pro/E experience
