Job Listing: Electronics Research Engineer

As a Fortune 1000 Company and a Fortune Most Admired Company, Volt partners with premier clients in the local Erie, PA area. One of our clients, has an excellent Direct Hire opportunity for an Electronics Research Engineer to join their team! Your responsibilities will include:
Become a Lead Project Engineer of cabinet X-ray systems and be part of a team for other detection equipment
Design, build and debug hardware and software for complex electrical circuit boards
Understand and design complex algorithms to analyze signals from inspection equipment
Develop documentation for use by engineering, sales, manufacturing, government, suppliers and customers
Construct and assemble prototype equipment
Travel to conduct field tests and start-ups on cabinet X-ray inspection systems and other equipment
Interface with customers to help solve field equipment problems

Required Skills

The successful candidate will have the following Education and Experience:
BSEE Degree - MSEE preferred
5+ years experience in design, troubleshooting and testing of electrical/electronic equipment for industrial instrumentation and control systems. X-ray or MRI development experience would be a definite plus
Experience programming PLDs, microprocessors and other embedded components for instrumentation and real-time is necessary
Proven success in taking full responsibility for a product development project from inception to completion
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to assist engineering, manufacturing and customers
Flexibility for travel - minimum 25%
Digital signal processing and proficiency in statistical analysis is highly desired
