Job Listing: Hardware Design Engineer
Volt Technical Resources top client in Mountain View, CA is looking for an Electrical Engineer to participate in the design of a subsystem of the Xbox 360 console. The responsibilities of this position are focused on specifying, designing (schematic capture (Concept), PCB layout (Allegro), analog/digital circuit design, BOM, cost analysis), implementing and verifying motherboard and component technology vehicles with considerations for system thermal design and design for manufacturability. This includes development of requirements by working with team members evaluating different solution options for functionality, cost and risk, developing the solution, implementing it, verifying it and supporting it in use. This requires the ability to quickly learn, analyze and implement new interfaces and subsystems, break down complex issues and collaborate across cross functional teams to resolve issues in a timely manner. Must be able to plan work, and work to a plan adapting as necessary in a rapidly evolving environment.

Required Skills
Minimum BS/MS in Electrical Engineering. A solid understanding of core engineering principles, circuit design and analysis is required. Seven to ten years of experiencing designing, implementing, and shipping products of medium to high complexity. Prior design and implementation of PC motherboards, analog/digital circuit design, test vehicles, embedded system architectures hardware and software, are a plus Design for manufacturing and test are required Design for assembly is a plus Strong bench evaluation and in-lab debugging skills are required. Dealing with ambiguity is required Strong communication skills and must be able to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms. Enthusiastic, motivated and self driven Knowledge of high volume consumer electronics design and manufacturing is desired. Domestic and international travel may be required.
