A growing and expanding firm in the Video Technology field is currently looking for an experienced Configuration Manager for a Contract to Hire opportunity in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Primary Functions:
The Configuration Manager:
Will be responsible for managing software configuration and the build process for the Company’s suite of applications.
This will involve creating and automating build systems, as well as coordinating multiple product releases.
Will be responsible for:
Source Code Management
Maintaining and enhancing the build process
Integrating submitted code into release branches
Packaging releases for QA and production
Works with Development to:
Build components of the Application Suite
Verify builds
Diagnose, debug, and resolve broken builds
Creates and maintains version directories.
Controls the Version Migration process as each version moves through development and testing phases.
Facilitates automation and testing of regular periodic builds.
Works with Development, QA, and field teams to resolve all release-related issues.
Creates tools to enhance developer interaction with CM processes and minimize operational overheads.
Creates reporting metrics for measuring, tracking and improving CM processes and communicating status.
Works with Management and Development to ensure that the CM Architecture for applications meets the CM needs of the organization with the least amount of overhead to the development processes.
Manages technical release notes for each release and client.

Required Skills for this Configuration Management - IT Development Support position include the following:
Build/release/configuration experience in a product-based environment
Experience preferred in both Java and C/C++ environments for products, not Web or Windows applications
Experience supporting multiple code baselines and builds
Experience with Source Control Management systems, i.e. Rational Clear Case, CVS, etc.
Experience with Defect Tracking tools, like Remedy and Bugzilla
Some experience within Consumer Electronics, Telecoms, or Aerospace Industries desired
Experience with Subversion a plus
Experience with CruiseControl and Maven a plus
