Job Listing: Requirements Analyst
The Requirements Analyst is responsible for defining market and customer requirements. Also provides expertise in the modeling and mapping of business processes. This position involves close interaction with development leads, product architects, and key customers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Gather input from customers, prospects, partners, sales people, engineering, customer support, external market trends and competitors in defining a cohesive set of deliverables that are market-driven and can be feasibly delivered by Engineering.
Produce Market Requirements Definition (MRD), Use-Case documents, and Functional Descriptions for existing and new products.
Effectively communicate requirements throughout the Engineering team.
Participate in Engineering and Support meetings, providing market-driven guidance on bug fixes, patches and other solutions.
Answer product-related questions from the Sales, Business Development, Marketing and external Business Partner organizations.
Assist product management in project scope definition and requirements prioritization
Translate the initial high-level vision into realistic requirements
Explain technical/architectural complexities to project stakeholders
Work with project stakeholders to identify, model, and then document their requirements and business domain details
Perform process and software gap analysis and resolution
Assist Quality team in testing new products/functionality by preparing and executing test scripts and test cases to ensure all requirements are met
Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using a simple, clear, unambiguous, and concise language
Represent requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios, where appropriate
Required Skills
Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or Engineering.
Strong technical background required
3-5 years business analysis, product management, and/or software requirement authoring experience
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within process manufacturing
Experience developing business requirements including process design, mapping, use cases and test scenarios
Strong technical acumen. Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Familiarity with all FMS products and other 3rd party products relating to the customers' business is a plus
Knowledge of Feed and Grain or animal nutrition Industry a plus
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to work in an unstructured problem-solving environment and synthesize strategy, plans, and solutions.
Able to work independently yet collaborate cross-functionally in a team environment.
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Understand how to use UML diagrams during requirements modeling and business process modeling
Communication and modeling skills necessary to elicit requirements effectively
Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical issues/problems
Business analysis skills
Project tracking tools
Requirements tracking and change control tracking tools
Some travel may be required
