Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer Sr. is responsible to ensure the cost effectiveness and reliability of manufacturing processes and workflow. You will determine the methods and sequences of manufacturing operations for moderately complex products and machine parts and assemblies. You must also ensure that products and processes meet customer quality requirements and provide producibility input and manufacturing plans for product design or modification. Provides support to the production team leader. Other specific duties include:
Responsibilities:
· Evaluates moderately complex manufacturing processes by conducting process analysis, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from operators/production technicians.
· Develop and document new and/or existing product work instructions to logically manufacture a part or assembly. Prepares written and graphical work instructions.
· Develop additional process documentation (ie. process drawings) to support component build through drawing modifications within applicable design limits using CAD software.
· Design and develop tooling and gaging as needed to support manufacturing process and design requirements
· Refines and enhances products and processes by applying continuous improvement and key lean manufacturing/production principles and techniques to areas of production. Creates standard work instructions.
· Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing/planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout. Assures process control and reliability for assigned areas. Assures product/process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product/process capabilities, and establishing standards to confirm and validate manufacturing process requirements. May serve as liaison to supplier base.
· May maintain product/process database by writing computer programs, travelers, operation sheets, and entering data.

Required Skills
Qualifications:
1. BACHELOR'S DEGREE (BS) IN MECHANICAL OR AEROSPACE ENGINEERING OR A MANUFACTURING RELATED TECHNICAL DISCIPLINE REQUIRED. ***(MUST HAVE)***
2. 6+ years of related experience and demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
3. Required: Knowledge of manufacturing & production engineering principles, concepts and general business operations. Must possess strong mechanical aptitude.
4. Required: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
5. Required: Knowledge of Assembly & Test process. Experience with Brazing, Tig Welding, GTAW and machining a plus.
6. Experience applying continuous improvement methods to quality & manufacturing functions (e.g. pull systems, process mapping, JIT), such as experience with lean manufacturing, six sigma.
7. Ability to use standard business applications software and/or specialized data analysis tools.
8. Experience with CAD software. Pro-E and/or CADAM a plus.
9. Ability to work on a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
10. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies and recommend changes to procedures.
11. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management. Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
