Job Listing: Supervisor/Design Engineer
Client will either do contract to hire or direct hire depending on candidate.
This is a smaller organization.
Requiring at least 5 years of management or supervisory experience.
Design engineering for FAA PMA applications for gas turbine engine components.
Program and collect data using PC-DMIS, perform analysis using design software; develop solid models and drawings, prepare documentation for FAA-PMA packages.
JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Plus 2-3 years prior reverse engineering experience specific to gas turbine component repair.
The specific SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE required for this position are:
CMM Programming using PC-DMIS.
Analysis using design software.
Good understanding of jet engine components.
ASME Y 14.5 and reverse engineering techniques.
Organized and detailed to support FAA PMA packages that are submitted to FAA.
Good communication skills.
Excellent computer and programming knowledge.
Knowledgeable in CAD software and procedures.
Knowledgeable with standard manufacturing processes for gas turbine engine component manufacturing, repair experience a plus
Required Skills
The duties and responsibilities regularly performed for this position are:
• Using reverse engineering technology and other test and computation methods to produce FAA PMA applications.
• Design applications for gas turbine hardware using 3-D ProE and CAD systems
• Define and conduct required dimensional inspections utilizing CMM
• Program and collect data using CMM, PC-DMIS.
• Perform analysis utilizing design software
• Develop solid models and drawings
• Organization and maintenance of engineering documents.
• Prepare reports and documents to be submitted to customers and regulatory agencies.
• Interface with suppliers and customers
• Effectively communicate in both verbal and written forms.
The marginal duties and responsibilities (performed occasionally or at irregular intervals) for this position are:
Travel outside the facility, as required Participate in technical presentations to customers and/or industry conferences.
Perform other tasks in the facility, as needed.
