Provides specialized care to veterans regarding skin integrity and wound concerns. Manage population and program consistent with evidence based practice in accordance with VA performance measures, which are nationally recognized for excellence. Work in collaboration with a physician within practice scope for nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist. Serve as a patient and staff education resource and lead hospital-wide intiatives and programs related to skin integrity and care.

Major Duties



The following requirements must be met in order to qualify for consideration:



MSN from an accredited program with Missouri Recognition as either a Clinical Nurse Specialist or Nurse Practitioner.  Applicants with state licenses other than Missouri must have prescriptive credentials.

Certification in Wound & Ostomy Careis preferred, or an agreement to become certified within two years of entry into this position.

Minimum of five years successful nursing practice, at least one year of which has been in an advanced or extended practice role.

Required Skills

Qualifications

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level close to the work of this job that has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform. Typically we would find this experience in work within this field or a field that is closely related.

Specialized Education:
You must show successful completion of a full course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree or higher in the field related to the job to which you are applying.

Master's degree in nursing required.


You must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.

After appointment, you will be subject to random testing for illegal drug use.

You must have a certification, licensure, or registration credentials in RNP or CNS for this position. In some cases, these may be substituted for experience and education.

You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed into this position.
