About the Position: You will perform a variety of methodology development/analyses covering mobility, power & energy performance, modeling and analysis and use both off-the shelf and specialized in-house computer applications. The analyst will develop methodologies/tools to support analyses. Software development languages/applications will be required. Ability to develop automated applications for Excel, Access, and large databases to extract data and perform data analysis, to include statistical collection and analysis approaches, will be necessary. The analyst will support studies by gathering/analyzing performance data to address technical performance issues of currently fielded, developmental and concept ground vehicle systems. Typical tasks can include: analysis of alternatives, technical test plan evaluations, item level performance analyses, test & evaluation analyses, supplying performance data to support combat simulations.

Major Duties
In this position you will serve as a recognized authority with responsibility for formulating and guiding analytical studies of major importance to the Army, DOD, and international groups. You will apply advanced professional knowledge of analytical concepts, mathematics, statistics and modeling/simulation techniques to analyze new DOD weapon materiel and logistics systems and military problems. Duties include performing a broad range of weapon materiel or logistics analyses; cost and/or economic analyses, or warfare analyses (to include the development of models and simulations) for difficult-to-define, controversial, new or novel systems/functions. Serves on a variety of high level boards and committees. Conducts briefings for a broad spectrum of customers across the Department of Army/Department of Defense as a recognized authority.

General Schedule BASIC REQUIREMENT: To qualify for this position, you must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree directly related to this occupation and one year of specialized experience directly related to this occupation equivalent to the next lower grade level. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Candidates for this job must show in their resume that they have one year of specialized experience and training that demonstrates the applicants (1) Knowledge of concepts, theories, principles, practices, and techniques of engineering or operations research and related fields to consider overall aspects related to the comprehensive analysis and integrated evaluations of systems (2) knowledge of ground vehicle systems mobility, power & energy performance (3) ability to conduct data analysis to address technical performance issues of ground vehicle systems (4) knowledge of software development languages and applications (5) ability to plan and execute complex, multi-faceted projects. This experience must have included responsibility for software development, developing automated applications for extracting and analyzing data, providing performance data to support combat simulations, and test plan evaluation and analysis.The experience described in your resume will be evaluated and screened for the Office of Personnel Management's basic qualifications requirements, and the skills needed to perform the duties of this position as described in this vacancy announcement.Your pay will be set within the range specified in this vacancy announcement and will be based on your qualification, education, experience, training, and availability of funds. Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act Career Field Position.This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 in Acquisition Career Field Systems Planning, Research Development, and Engineering within 24 months of entrance on duty.
